CNET has reviewed the Sony Alpha A350 a 14.2 megapixel (CCD) DSLR with a 2.7 inch tilting LCD and live view.
They write: with its 14-megapixel CCD, flip-up LCD, sensor-shift image stabilizer, and built-in wireless flash controller, the feature-packed Sony Alpha DSLR-A350 seems like a cornucopia of photographic goodness for the budget shopper. And you wouldn’t be far off the mark: there’s a lot to like in the A350… however, unless you’re prepared to spend a disproportionate amount of money on a really good lens, the resolution bump offered by the Sony Alpha DSLR-A350 isn’t worth the price.”

Nikon have released a firmware update for its D40 6.0 megapixel DSLR.
This firmware (Version 1.11) is a minor update that addresses the following issue: Shooting times were not always accurately recorded within the image data for images captured in bursts of continuous shooting.
Canon has released a new firmware update for the EOS 40D 10.1 megapixel DSLR. The firmware update (version 1.0.8) fixes the following issues:
Amateur Photographer are reporting that Samsung is working on developing a full frame professional digital SLR camera. Canon and Nikon already have full frame imaging sensors in their DSLR line-up and Sony has also announced a full frame prototype in January at the PMA show. If Samsung is to become a serous player in the DSLR market is makes sense follow the big players with a full frame sensor. Samsung has made it clear they have an ongoing relationship with Pentax, which may mean we could see two very similar Samsung and Pentax cameras featuring full frame sensors released around the same time, like we have with the current Pentax K20D and Samsung GX-20 (pictured) cameras. DP Review has reviewed the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H10 an 8 megapixel camera with 3.0 inch LCD display and a massive 10x stabilized optical zoom lens (38 – 380 mm equivalent). The Cybershot H10 also features 31 megabytes of internal memory, ISO sensitivity of ISO 100-3200, and HDTV video output.
They write: “Like its predecessor the H10 offers a massive zoom range in a very compact package: if you are looking for a camera that you can carry all the time but don’t want to dispense with a very long zoom, you should seriously consider it as one of your options… Image quality is virtually identical to the predecessor’s. It is good in reasonable light, the output is ready to print, sharp and with appealing colors. At higher ISO ranges and in low light this picture changes but the results are no worse than on the competition’s comparable models – certainly not at standard print sizes… the H10 is a compact long-zoom point and shoot camera that reliably takes pictures in Auto mode and offers good value for money. There are a few negatives you should have in mind but image quality is decent. Most of all, like its predecessor it is a fun-to-use camera that you can carry wherever you go.”

PhotoReview.au reviews the Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III a 21.1 megapixel full-frame digital SLR with 5 fps shooting, 45-point AF system and 3.0-inch LCD display with Live View.
They write; “Large, heavy and complex to operate, Canon’s EOS-1Ds Mark III is not the ideal camera for everybody. It’s certainly not for novice users and photographers who prefer to set and forget their cameras are unlikely to extract the greatest benefits from this camera. In fact, for most serious enthusiasts – and many professionals – eight to 12 megapixel resolution is more than adequate. But for photographers who require a combination of very high resolution, extensive adjustability and excellent imaging performance, it is a very impressive imaging tool. In versatility, usability and performance, it represents a genuine rival for most medium-format digital cameras, which are significantly more expensive.”
